Returning to work after an injury and/or traumatic experience can be extremely difficult. Often a person who survives an injury or trauma is faced with substantial symptoms of anxiety or depression that family members, friends, co-workers and employers may not be able to fully understand or help with.
We have psychological treatment services that are designed to assist clients with strategies to move forward and lead independent and productive lives despite trauma and physical injury. Our treatment plans are tailored to meet each client’s needs.
A variety of psychological assessments are available such as assessments of mental health, pain, fitness-to-work and factors impacting recovery.
Our clinicians provide evidenced-based and goal directed rehabilitation and therapy. We use Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and specialized treatments such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT); we often incorporate Prolonged Exposure (PE), which means that clients gradually, in manageable steps, return to settings and activities that they have been avoiding.
We can also design and provide support through a Gradual Return-to-Work plan or provide collaborative services with other professional such as your Occupational Therapist and/or Physiotherapist. Our therapists help foster resilience in our clients – the ability to thrive despite adversity.
