Sleep Solutions: CBT-i for insomnia

Trauma-Informed CBT For Sleep

Are you experiencing sleep disturbances that affect your daily functioning and emotional well-being? Do you find yourself trapped in a cycle of anxiety and sleeplessness, often feeling exhausted yet unable to rest? Our six-week Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) program is designed to help you reclaim your nights and restore your days, all within a supportive and trauma-informed framework.

What is CBT-I?

CBT-I is an evidence-based approach that focuses on the thoughts and behaviours affecting your sleep. Unlike traditional methods that often only address symptoms, CBT-I delves into the underlying factors contributing to insomnia, equipping you with tools to foster a more peaceful relationship with sleep.

Why Trauma-Informed?

We understand that stress and trauma can profoundly influence your sleep patterns. Our program is grounded in a trauma-informed lens, ensuring that every session is compassionate, supportive, and respectful of your unique experiences. We prioritize your safety and comfort, creating a nurturing environment for healing. Our practitioners have advanced training in sleep issues and techniques specific to stress, trauma and PTSD.

What to Expect:

  • Expert Guidance: Led by a licensed mental health professional, our group sessions provide a safe space for sharing experiences and learning from one another.
  • Evidence-Based Techniques: Learn about thoughts, behaviours, and beliefs about sleep and how they create a cycle of insomnia. Learn skills for relaxation and discover how to create an inner and outer environment that promotes sleep.
  • Skill-Building Activities: Engage in hands-on activities that allow you to practice new skills between sessions. You'll leave each session with concrete tools you can use immediately in your daily life.
  • Supportive Community: Connect with others who understand what you're going through. Learn through others' experiences and share your own to help others.
  • Personalized Insights: Tailor the skills you learn to fit your personal experiences and challenges, ensuring that you have the tools you need to thrive.

Session Highlights:

  • Understanding sleep and the different types of insomnia
  • Tracking your personal sleep behaviours
  • Identifying thoughts and beliefs that make insomnia worse
  • Developing a personalized insomnia/sleep management plan

Who Should Join: This group is for adults seeking effective strategies to improve their sleep.
